What paperwork do I need to bring when I collect my motorhome?

Please bring the following documents:

Full driver’s license for each driver.
DVLA check code for hiring to show endorsements.
2 forms of identification – driver’s license and one other document for proof of address, for example a recent utility bill or statement with your name and address and be dated within the last 60 days.

Do I need a special license to drive your motorhomes?

No. All of our motorhomes are plated to 3,500kg so can be driven on a standard UK license.

What do I need to bring?

We pride ourselves on our motorhomes coming with almost everything you need to enjoy your holiday as standard within the basic rate.

You will need to bring clothes, bedding, towels (we can supply bedding and towels as an optional extra), food and personal items such as child seats etc.

We recommend taking some food with you but to buy as you travel so that you can experience the best of the local area you are travelling through.

Don’t forget to bring all the paperwork you need!

When do I collect and return the motorhome?

Our standard collection time is 2pm on the day of your holiday. We ask that you return the motorhome at 11am on the last day of your holiday. Unlike most rental companies you can book to start and stop your holiday on any day you choose!

We would appreciate if you can inform us of what time you will be arriving so we can make sure that we have everything ready for you when you arrive. If plans change then please let us know as soon as you can.

If these times are not convenient please contact us and if we can assist we will. However this will be dependent on availability.

Where do I collect the motorhome from?

Our motorhomes are kept at a secure storage depot which is located just off the A1198 Junction of the A14 (J24). The depot is 1 mile south of this junction on the A1198.

Can I leave my car?

We offer secure parking for 1 car for the duration of your rental. This is kept at our secure depot with 24hr CCTV and security lighting.

How do I book a motorhome rental?

Who can drive a motorhome?

We have a very open policy on who can drive our motorhomes!

You must be between the age of 25 and 70 and have held a full drivers license for 2 years. By special arrangement we are also able to allow drivers as young as 21 and as old as 79 although we will have to speak with our insurers. This may mean we require a slightly higher deposit to cover any increases to the premium.

A DVLA check code will need to be supplied so we can verify if you have any endorsements. Our insurers allow us to still rent for some endorsements. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this with us further.

Do you allow pets?

As a general rule we don’t allow pets. However we are willing to consider requests so if you are hoping to bring your pet please contact us.

How many drivers do you allow?

We allow 2 named drivers.

Can I travel to Europe?

Yes you are allowed to travel to Europe with our Motorhomes. There is an additional insurance charge to cover this which can you select as an option when you book.

Is gas included?

Yes we provide at least 1 full bottle of gas as part of the hire cost. If you use more than this then any refills you need during your holiday will have to be purchased by you.

I want to go away in winter. Will I be cold?

Our motorhomes are fully winterised and come with Class 3 insulation throughout and a full air blown central heating system. The central heating can be operated by a simple touchscreen control and runs on either gas or by mains electricity.

How long does the hot water take to get hot?

The hot water boiler can be operated on either Gas or Mains Electricity. It takes up to an 1 hour to reach operating temperature depending on the external temperature. The boiler holds 8 litres of water.

Can I get discounted camping with you?

We are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club Privilege scheme. This entitles you to discounts at over 110 participating campsites across the UK. Details can be found in our motorhomes or by following the link on our homepage.

Do we have to pay extra for mileage?

All of our motorhome rentals come with unlimited mileage as standard!

How old will my motorhome be?

The motorhome you hire from us will always be less than 3 years old.

Can I go to a festival?

If you can get tickets for the festival we let you take our motorhomes to it! There is no extra charge for this and we don’t charge a premium on common festival dates.

What happens if I can’t get a mains hookup?

Don’t worry! Nearly all of the equipment installed in our motorhomes can be run off gas or the internal 12V systems. To give further peace of mind we have a solar panel which continually tops up the living and driving batteries! The only thing that requires 240V is the microwave!

What is the shortest time I can rent a motorhome for?

The minimum rental period is 3 nights.

However we are flexible and may be able to offer shorter rentals depending on seasonal availability.

How will I know how to use the equipment in the motorhome?

All of our motorhomes come with an easy to use and understand user guide.

You will also be given a comprehensive handover when you pick up the motorhome which should hopefully answer all of your questions.

If you are still unsure of how something works then you can call us and we will assist as best we can.

Do I need insurance?

All of our motorhome bookings come with Fully Comprehensive Motorhome insurance. This does not cover personal belongings or any problems with your chosen campsites. We recommend that you take out your own travel insurance to cover this.

What happens if I break something by mistake?

Don’t worry we understand that mistakes happen. Please contact us as soon as possible as we may be able to assist while you are still out and about.

If it is something more serious we are fully supported by the Marquis dealer network who have branches all over the country. We may advise you to call into one of the branches for them to fix it.

We may have to deduct the cost of the repairs from your deposit.

What happens if I break down or get a puncture?

We have full breakdown cover. Please contact the numbers that are provided in your motorhome.

When will I get my deposit back?

We will return your deposit as soon as we have been able to do a full inspection of the motorhome. We may need to wash the motorhome before we are able to see any damage to the outside.

We will return your deposit no more than 7 days after your return the motorhome. In most cases we endeavour to return it the day after you return the motorhome.

If there is any damage we will hold on to all of the deposit until we have been able to get quotations for the repairs. The remainder of your deposit will be returned then.

Can I smoke or Vape in the motorhome?

Smoking or using an e cigarette is strictly forbidden inside the motorhome.
